03 vert performance question
Thanks guy you all have been a big help in my pick of vette's
1) Nitrous kit. Good for occasional blasts. Engine wear an issue.
2) Head and Cam package, but you should upgrade your drivetrain and brakes too, to handle the new load.
3) Intake/outake upgrades and a performance chip. Not as much HP increase but relatively inexpensive and safer on the drivetrain.
3) Upgrade to the MN12 tranny and/or 3.90 or 4.10 rear. Doesn't change the HP but feels like it!!
My preference would be to do the intake/outake mods (Blackwing and performance exhaust), upgrade the chip, and put a 3.90 in the rear. Also upgrade your suspension with some Z06 bars and look at better brake pads. These would be the best bang for the buck...IMHO.
Remember, you can outrun everything but your money. Think before you mod...what do really want to do with the car? Good luck.

donaldson blackwing airfilter
less restrictive exhaust (lots of different sounds to choose from. Shop carefully regarding resonance, loudness at WOT and cruising, etc)
A custom dyno-tune (they leave a fair bit on the table with a stock C5 coupe/vert)
Mods are an expensive addiction. My path went like this
Donaldson Blackwing Air filter.
I wanted more, so I added
Corsa exhaust
z06 sized wheels and tires
Getting better, then I added
3.42 diff gear (had a 2.73)
stainless works LT headers & mid section with highflow cats
eradispeed 2-piece drilled/slotted brake rotors with +1 size in rear
hawk hps brake pads
That felt good, gimme some more:
vortech supercharger
DTE blower cam
3.73 diff gear with hardened output shaft
FLP level 4 tranny
Yank SY3500 torque converter
upgraded fuel pump
BeCool hd radiator
custom dyno tune
That gave me my fix, but I still added a few things
DTE diff strut
b&m tranny cooler
hotchkis swaybars
ss brakelines
ate superblue brake fluid
