P0358 Ignition Control #8 Circuit code?
Recently started feeling a knocking in my '00 MN6 coupe, almost like the engine was misfiring every now and then. Only happens every now and then, and only at speeds of about 70mph and more. The car would 'shudder' a few times, then drive normally. Didn't feel like a road issue (I've driven the same roads every day for years, and never felt it before), and it wasn't a tire issue (checked them, couldn't find a problem.) At 55mph - 65mph speeds, car functions and rides normally.
Felt the knocking again today, and sure enough, saw the "check engine" light come on just as I got home. Pulled the codes, and the only one there was "P0358 Ignition Control #8 Circuit" -- I take it that one of the cylinders is misifring?
Anyone have more information? Or anyone out there experience this symptom and find that code? If so, care to give me some idea of what the issue and/or fix was? I did a search, but didn't come up with much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
-Mike
Thanks for the info. Do you know what the fix is for this? Or what part is is generally the root cause of the problem? Any idea what kind of cost I'm looking at?
Thanks!

- Wirining
- PCM faulty
- Ignition Coil faulty
I would bet, the Coil is the Problem. - But before replacing expensive
parts, take a look at the electrical connectors at the coil.
If this is ok, you can verse-exchange Coil #8 and Coil #6. If you
still get Code P0358 the coil is ok. If you get Code P0356, the coil
is bad.
Here are some PDF´s:

Hope, this helps
