If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Situation: Battery dead after car has not been driven for 3 days. Try to jump start. Car starts for, immediately shuts down, DIC reads "reduced engine power", then I get "service vehicle soon", message, then every message that I could possibly get, i.e. low fuel, check tire pressure, ect...
Battery is not that old. Take it in. It is dead. They replace it. Install new battery. Start up the car, get the same problems as described above.
Car will turn over, start, then will not run at all. Like the computer is shutting the car down.
Any suggestions? Alternator? Bad ground somewhere?
If the alternator is bad or unconnected that error will show up. Also if you somehow knocked the throttle body plug out. Check your wiring harnesses. I bet its something simple...
I was thinking the alternator because the car has enough power to turn over, meaning the battery is good, but does not seem to have enough juice to give the computer enough power to operate the sensors and make the car run.
I appreciate your time and willingness to help out. This forum is the best thing out there and it is because of people like you. Take care.
About a month ago I parked it and left the radar detector plugged in. That drained the battery, but it was resolved with a jump start and I did not get that error. No battery drain that I know of. Seems to only occur when I park it for an extended period of time.
I appreciate your time and willingness to respond to my issue. Take care.
