It's so easy to own a black car if you have some things going for you.
#1 you have a garage
#2 it's not your daily driver
#3 you have a cover for it in your garage
That's it! Black is easy. I've washed my vette this year 3 times. That's it. I've put on 8K miles. If you follow my simple 3 step plan you too can be happy and enjoy life with your black vette. lol
Black shows dust and crud that completely disappears on other colors. It also shows swirl marks from washing/drying more than others. My last two have been black and just bought a black car for my wife... nothing looks better clean to me, but it's more work to keep it looking clean.
I love my black Vette and I enjoy washing it. When it gets dusty, I just run the California duster over it and it is beautiful again. Black Vettes have a sinister look to them that I love. I get all kinds of compliments on mine.
my blessings to you and yours in Louisiana....my post is pro black !
I'm a lady, and I think the black vettes look the meanest and sexiest. My husband and I just bought a white '99 vette which looks sharp and classy, but is lacking a bit in attitude. If/when I get my own vette, I would really like black. Yes, I know it is not as practical, but oh well! BTW, I think of any vette as a "he" and not a "she". The black vettes have more testosterone, IMHO.

Listen up guys, this is a lady that knows what she's talking about
Black is the cleanest color IMO. It really isn't that hard to keep clean if you have covered parking and it isn't a daily driver. Just dust it with the california duster and wash it with some quick detailer before you go out. It will look good for 2-3 weeks without a complete wash.
Being a lady myself.... yeah. Blacks the first color Z that caught my eye.... the first guy vette owner I dated had a black one, it was goregous!
The first Z I had was black, and I'll never own a black car again. I really love the RED.... sorry boys. Black was too hard to maintain and it showed too many paint swirls. No matter how many times I cleaned it. Maybe had I bought it brand new it would've been different. Not too sure.... but I'd say torch reds the way to go boys!
