Who uses these gears manually on a C5 auto?
Had a go the other day and it seems quite good, makes the car sound better as well through holding the gears longer.
Can it harm the car if you push it hard in manual providing you dont take it into the red?

I have a 6-speed, but I would think that you could have your car re-programed to shift at the maximum rpms without having to shift it manually. It shouldn't hurt the transmission unless you push it past the redline. Maybe someone with an automatic transmission will chime in.
Since I enjoy the same thing, I bought a 6 speed!

I manually shift down occasionally as the kick down can be a bit rough. probably wouldn't do it as a matter of routine though.
