It drives me crazy that on the rare occasion that I have to take the car out in the rain that whenever I open the trunk it dumps water on the rear speakers. I try to do it slow and easy but I often forget or don't have the patience. Do they make something to prevent that?
They changed this in later models (not sure what year). They made the weatherstrip extend down at the bottom to direct water away from the interior of the car.
Drives me insane . You just don't think, pop open the trunk and your rear speakers get a bath...not to mention a nice splashing on the contents of your trunk.

My '99 had this problem, but they lengthened the weatherstripping on the hatch in '00 and eliminated a lot of the problem. You can get the weatherstripping replaced, but it may be a little expensive.
