I ordered the Corsa exhaust and called my local Chev dealer to see how much to install the set up. Now, I like my local dealer but his quote was $175-$350. They have only done one other install and the tech said it would be 2-4 hour job. Anyone else had this done and how much did it cost you?
thanks,
Gus
I took my car to a good local muffler shop and they removed and installed the new corsa exhaust in about 1 hour, the tech said sometimes they are easy to align and other times a real chore, but I did get to watch

Funny. I have been using this name for years on other boards, and never had so many people recognize the meaning! You folks are a bunch of smart bastages eh?
(BTW, I love to call Sun and tell them my email is devnull@whatever.com. They almost never pick up on it)
I had mine done at Mid America Motorwork's Funfest and it took the Corsa techs 20 min. It's not that hard to get the parts on but a perfect alignment can be difficult. It helps to have 2 people working. The dealer is not required. I had quotes in the $160 range from shops but the show special was $100.
On C5 tech guys are posting that they had theirs done for 60.00 at a local muffler shop. I would expect w/the x-pipe it may be more like 150.00 - 175.00 due to the cuts that have to be made to remove your H-pipe and fit the new system. If you are doing an x-pipe I would be more selective when choosing a shop. Otherwize its a snap! Good Luck!
I needed to have the abs of steel, Xpipe and Tigersharks installed. I took it to a local repair shop that the owners have some C3s and race. They did it all for $150. I can't see spending more than $100 for just the exhaust, that's what they were getting at the Funfest.
I got a card from my dealer that they were offering Corsas for 10% off and free install. I still did much better buying at the Funfest and paying the local shop for the install.
I did it myself and I am no brain surgeon. It took about two and a half hours and had no problem aligning the exhaust. I had to make one adjustment which took about 5 minutes. Even if you have a shop do it, I would recommend checking the torca clamps after you drive it a few times just to make sure they are still tight.
Thanks for all the help. I called my local shop and he will charge me by the hour. My new Tiger sharks will be delivered 10/19. Just happens to be my wedding anniversary too. I've got the best wife on Earth. I know I'm spoiled

Gusvette,
Find someone with a lift, you and one friend can do the job yourselves in one hour and still have time to enjoy a cold brew. The instructions that come with the system are very detailed and well written. The hardest part about the install is getting the car positioned correctly on the lift. The rear tires need to be very close to the end of the lift so you can swivel the old mufflers and over-axle pipes out and down.
