what is the best way to check plug wires for potential problems i know spraying them with a mist of water will show any signs of tears and what not by it arcing but id like to check the resistance with an ohm meter as well but do not know what numbers i should be looking for and whats the spec for the plug wires
also are all ac-delco wires the same as far as resistance goes as i have a 96 monte carlo id like to check the wires on also
Not sure what the spec is but when I changed the factory wires on my 98 Coupe they tested at 330 to 350 ohms. They were in good condition.
I put in new GM HP Torch Red wires. To my surprise they tested at 370 ohms. With the new wires and Iridium Plugs my C5 pulls strong right up to the red line.
There must be a ohm spec that the wires must be under to meet the demand of this application. Maybe one of the other forum members can chime in on this one.
