Default Does "Chaging Wheels" + "Transferring Senors" = Problem ?

The question asks it all... & if it's suggested it would be better to purchase new sensors (the car is a '97) what is the "cheapest", most in-expensive", "thriftiest", place to get them ? Thanks.

You do not state what wheels you are going to.

However, most 'C5' wheels from manufactures will take the sensors just fine.

If you get a set of wheels that do not accept the sensors- thsn you need to buy 'bands' to hold them in (DO NOT attempt to 'JB Weld' them to the rim - wil cause problems).

You state your Vette is a 97 - get new sensors.

Ken Fithner (Forum vendor) can supply them.

Hope this assists.

Fred Beans has them for $74.95. Better yet, replace the batteries yourself and save a few hundred.

If you are still running the original sensors in your '97, now would be the time to get new ones. Fred Beans has them for about $330 for all four, which is a very good price.

Default Dont change the tire sizes or..

dont change the tire size .. I went larger both front and back and the unless I went to have the car relibrated the traction light would kick on then the car would practically stall out. I could step on the gas and nothing .. I have to push the traction button to "trip and trick" the brain into thinking that the car is fine... I dont know but thats what I do

I swopped over to the wider OEM ZO6 wheels and I've had no problems. I've even installed TPS on the wheels with no problems.

My friend - you have something else wrong.

Changing tire sizes should make no, none, nada, issues.

You need to take the Vette to a tunner and see waht is wrong - sooner is better than later

Yep!! Kblair3d you've got other issues going on. You also didn't state what size wheels/tires you went to. The car can handle differences...up to a point.

Default Bands For Tire Sensor

I LEARNED SOMTHING TODAY . I PURCHASED A SET OF IFORGED DAYTONAS 20/19 WITH THE NEW LARGE LIP LOOK GREAT BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE SENSOR DOES NOT FIT ON THE NEW RIMS LIKE THEY DID ON THE STOCK 99 C-5 RIMS . AS WAS STATED THE BANDS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ANSWER SO I ORDERED A SET BUT WAS TOLD THEY WERE RECALLED FOR FAILING UNDER STRESS .GREAT I AM DUE TO PUT MY TIRES AND RIMS ON THIS SAT AT 7AM AND HAVE NOTHING FOR THE SENSOR PROBLEM . SO I CALLED AROUND AND A LOCAL TIRE SHOP SEEMED TO HAVE THE ANSWER IT IS CALLED A RELOCATION KIT WHICH BASICALLY IS LIKE A FLAT L BRACKET THAT FITS UNDER THE FACTORY STEM BOLT INSIDE THE HUB AND THE SENSOR FITS INTO THE SPACE AND THE STEM USUALLY USED FOR AIR GOES THROUGH THE OTHER HOLE IN THE END OF THE BRACKET SECURING THE SENSOR WITHOUT ALL THE GLUE AND BANDS . SOUNDS SIMPLE AND AFTER LOOKING AT IT YOU COULD PROBALLY BUT SOMTHING LIKE IT AT HOME DEPOT FOR .59 BUT OF COURSE I PAID 10 DOLLARS EACH FRONT AND BACK . NO PHOTOS . I KNOW IT BUGS ME WHEN I CAN'T SEE PHOTOS BUT MABYE THE INFO WILL HELP SOMEONE
