Default Tires

I resently purchased a 2001 Corvette. I desperately need tires. I got a good price on Firestone FireHawks. My question is this; does anyone have experience with this tire and what to do if you get a flat? It has been suggested to carry a bottle of that flat tire sealer but I'm concern about the tire pressure sensor in the wheel.... any suggestions?

Many members run the Firehawks and most of them have really good things to say about them. Do you have the run-flat version? If so, you don't need to do anything if you get a flat - as far as tire sealer. I believe with the Firestone, you can travel 50 miles at 55 mph with a flat tire, so you can just drive it (if necessary) to a local tire store and have them fix it or replace it. And yes, tire sealer will mess up the sensors.

Tire Rack has a Continental Tire "ContiComfortKit" which has everything you need to fix a flat. I've read on here that their sealant will not harm your sensors. Maybe someone who has purchased it can chime in with some info.
