Default C6 shift ****

Hi guys, has anyone put a C6 shift **** in their C5? If so can you point me in the direction for the best price?

Thanks

See recent thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...2&forum_id=103

Also there was some discussion about the C6 Z06 shifter which is different and apparently slightly cheaper. I haven't seen any definitive info though.

There is someone who adapts the C6 **** to the C5 shaft by threading it. I would think that over time, this method would result in a loose or rotated ****.

Many of us have replaced the whole unit and are very happy with the results. About $200 + shipping for everything from Fred Beans or Ken Fichtner. I negotiated with my local dealer and paid about $225 plus sales tax.

I have one in my Z06. My husband installed it and I want to sell it! I don't like how it looks I'm sorry to say. I just want the old one back on there!
I have not driven it since he has made the swap so I can't tell you what its like... I just can't get past the look of it.
I liked the stock **** and unfortunately it can't be used with the C6 shifter.

Please PM him so he will sell it to you!

What is wrong with the looks? Is it the style or does the color not match the interior?

I mean no disrespect to all of you who like the look of it. For me it just looks too futuristic for the car IMO. I don't do well with change to begin with and I’m a fanatic when it comes to my car.

I like the way the stock style shifter looks much better. I had a Hurst short shifter prior to the C6 one and I loved it (except for the noise) Then…..Someone convinced me to get this one instead.

Will the real Mickbee please stand up?! Well now I know why some folks do not remain logged in when they go to work...

"Someone" didn't fully read the entire post; the request is for the ****, not the entire shifter/****/boot, etc...

I like the looks and the shifting of the setup better than the factory C5. The **** and boot go quite well with the interior AND the shifter has a great feel. My only beef is the silver part of the **** gets HOT after sitting in the sun. I looked at my palm to see if I had the shift pattern burned into it.

If I did sell it, it would be the whole setup it has about 50 feet of usage...

Good luck on your quest.

There is a guy on Ebay who sells them for $79.99. These are OEM GM C6 ***** that are modified to fit on a C5 shifter. They simply screw on. I've had mine for about a year now and it's never come loose yet. My C6 **** is screwed onto a Hurst shifter.

I have the same setup on my 2K C5, and I bought it from the guy on Ebay(GSI Creations). And it was a simple screw on.
