I think you should make that decision, if you are the one buying it....and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the majority of the people here will say C5. just a hunch.
Well your answer will largely depend on to which forum you pose the question. Since this is the C5 forum, I suspect most (myself included) will prefer the looks of the C5. The caveat to that is, I think the C5 with the TigerShark front end looks WAY better than the C6, while it's a closer call with a stock C5, though the C5 still wins in my book. That said, when comparing the looks between a stock or even TS C5 to a C6 Z06, it's a tougher call. I LOVE the look of the new Z! And I can even ignore the punched-in rear end... Get what you like better. Personally, I'd never buy a new car in its first year. Hear of all the problems the C6 has had with the pulley bolts giving way and the pulley destroying the engine?? The best bang for the buck is still a C5 - I'm sure you can find one with a few thousand miles on it, so basically new, for quite a bargain compared with a C6...
Good luck!

well i still think the c5 is a better looking car, the c6 does have a lot of c5 in the design, not such a major change, may be a step up in refinement compared to the c5,but imho thats a bad company policy on Chevys part, imho they could have used the same(supposed) leather seats and other upgrades that have been introduced in the c6. but time passes and so does technology
I considered a C6 before buying a new 04 C5 1 1/2 years ago. The differences between them driving wise aren't huge imo, especially given the difference in price. New vettes have a big markup. I got my new 04 for 10k off sticker. If you buy a new c6 you will take a big hit in depreciation the first 1-2 years. My 04 is worth 35k or so, so it's dropped 6k from what I paid. If I had paid sticker price I be down 16k!

I'd take either. I really like my C5, but I see nothing wrong with the C6. But, you are the one that will be shelling out the cash so it really is what you like. Good luck with the decision.
C5 people will say C5........
C6 people will say C6........
Get the one you like the looks of....
I've been told that some of the last C5 made have C6 parts on them
don't know if thats true or not.......
