Default Update on Wheel locks

As I posted a few weeks ago, When I installed chrome caps on my wheels I found I had locks on there also. I purchased my vette from a dealer and they didn't tell me this, and Yes there was no key to be found. Well after a few weeks trying to find a lost key or a soultion I took it upon myself do take action based on what you the Form members suggested. I used a old 3/4" 6 point socket and pounded it on then cranked it off. The hard part was tapping the lug out of the socket to use it again. FYI... When I went to the steelership to get four new Lug Nuts the parts guy said something was wrong. I said what? He said these are priced wrong, they are supposed to be $5.95 each but they show $1.05 each. I said, GM must have knocked off the Corvette Tax, so I'll take four for $1.05. So I saved myself $19.60. Man, $5.95 for a stinking Lug nut, that's $119.00 a set. UNREAL. Well anyway, I feel better, saved money, and all with the help you on the Form. Thanks

I had to remove mine the same way, because the were so tight that the key stripped. Really enjoyed that afternoon. Went to Auto-Zone and picked up a set of chrome one for $20. Don't you just love the sealerships. I hope you enjoy your new lugs. Great savings.
