My 2004 with 3300miles on it has a pass. door speaker that sounds blown when certain bass notes are hit. All the other speakers sound "ok" not great for a $48K car....
I saw a post in audio where someone mentioned the bose emblem on the speaker cover was the culpret rattleing on one of their speaker panels. They glued it down - rattle gone. May not be your problem but might be worth a look.
Nice setup. I went the whole route. New HU, speakers, sub, JL sub and amp. My wife has a superb stock stereo in her Lexus but the Vette now surpasses it and my wife says she is now getting addicted to the Vette.
I have to agree. I have Bose speakers on my home stereo and have always enjoyed their rich full sound.
When I bought my 04 Z06 I noticed the Bose sound system and thought; great! I played a few tunes while on the test drive and thought I need to do some adjusting, how wrong I was. For a car that sells for over $52,000 at least 2 things come to mind that could easily be improved; the sound system and the head lamps.
I also have a 1999 Dodge Dakota SLE. The sound system that came with the truck is made through Infinity. It's an 80 watt system complete with 6 Infinity speakers, allot of power, for me, and superb sound. Wish Chevrolet went with Infinity instead of Bose.
Last night I was out cruising around and had Pink Floyd playing. Hearing this how Godawful my stock stereo sounds just makes me wanna hurl. No bass whatsoever, and the highs stinks too. I plan on next year on saving up and getting an all new system. I think GM is in cahootz with the aftermarket stereo guys because they knew that alot of us would hate the stock unit and go with the aftermarket.
It is always easy to identify people who always want soemmthing different in the way of audio quality in an automobile. Quality audio in a moving car is an oxyomoran. Not going to happen, just get use to it.
Just turn up the volume, remove or drop the top and drive on a crowded expressway in the city and be happy.
