Installed the right hand unit last night and the bolts that hold it into the cage are a real PITA. Decided to leave the left hand one until this morning so that I'd be fresh.
Afetr I'd hooked up the bulbs I sat the headlight on the fender and reconnected the battery to check that all the lights were working before I reinstalled it.
You've guessed it.......the vibration from the headlamp motor dislodged the light and I watched it drop in slow motion to the floor. Cracked the lens.
Went onto GM Direct to order a new one and punched in the wrong part number. The orders confirmed for the wrong light and they have no number to call to amend the order. It has to be done by E Mail. I'm now on tenterhooks. If I cant change the order I have 2 right hand lamps and a broken left hand lamp.
The only good news is that all the lamps are working but the cracked lens looks like ****
Darn thats nasty, I had the euro headlights on my 85 the lens seemed the same for both sides! take a closer look two rights may work fine if all you need is the lens.
BTW you can get the housings (lens & reflector) at most autoparts stores a Euro lamp for a motorcycle I got hellas for my C4 and they just replaced the one piece bulb & lens assembly

Sadly they're different. Theres 2 holes for the bolts on one side and one on the other. They're different for each lamp.

The C5 headlights are very different left to right. One nice thing about the earlier generations was the easy fitment of Cibie or Hella euro lighting...not so with the C5.
I got my T-84s at www.cibieusa.com at considerable savings compared to local chev dealer, even with our club discount, which can be substancial. The fellow there drives a C5. He gets the T84s in Europe to bypass all the profits taken by regular GM distrubition taking them into the US.

Some days life just sucks.
Sorry to hear about that buddy, I just got done installing my T84's and almost did the same thing. Because I wanted to avoid the same fate as yours, I made sure to put on the one "easy" bolt on the left side(left light) on before reconnecting the battery(you did disconnect the battery, right??!!). Good luck to you

I had the battery on and off so many times that I lost count.
You have no idea how careful I was for the rest of the installation. Just one fatal error.
Oh well $85 later and I'll have corrected the **** eyed look
