An X pipe isn't going to make them quieter, no.

Hehehe... I could have told you that. I got nutty and took of my Borla Stingers in favor of the straight pipes b/c I thought I liked loud.

As you said they're incredible at WOT, but the resonance will give you a headache. I also have Kooks headers w/ cats so it makes it even worse.

I kept mine on for a day then put my Stingers back on that night. B&B Bullets and Borla Stingers are a nice loud catback but not horrible like the straight pipes.

I listed mine for sale the night I took them off and had them sold in 10 minutes.

LOL I put straights on my '66 Chevelle cause I thought loud would be cool. I couldn't hear anyone in the passenger seat over 45mph. Stock works for me on my Z06. I kinda like the "sleeper" sound at red lights.

Does this system have cats or no cats? They'll quiet things down.

I'd say if you would like a nice rumble and want low/no drone, a Z06 Ti system will deliver what you're after. I love the sound of my car and it's stock.

Borla Straight pipes sound like ***. It's not a "tuned" sound. I like my B&B Bullets..Yup.. they are loud..

I never drove so slow when I had straight pipes. If I even punched it in the slightest, cops from the next state could hear me. Took all the fun out. Then I went with Corsa Pace mufflers. Great at WOT, but sounds like a sedan at idle, and it makes me miss the straight pipes. What a dilema.

A sleeper Z06? Is that even possible? Most people on the streets know what they're capable of, no way to hide it in a corvette.
I do love my Stingers. I don't think they are too loud. Sounds great at idle. You can carry conversations at highway speeds easily. I am tempted to go with long tubes and cats for a little bit more sound.

I have the borla stingers but the previous owner made a somewhat odd config...I have straight pipes and 1 muffler where an X-pipe would be located...sounds really nice

Leave whatever exhaust system you have. Have dump valves installed. You can be quiet, or loud as hell.

I have Borla Stingers(4's)with an X-pipe and no cats with Kooks long tubes. The sound is tolerable around town, great at WOT but if you track it at all be careful if there are sound limits on the particular track. I was down at Laguna Seca last month for two days...it was a 92 db day...I was blackflagged for doing 102 db going up the hill past the sound meter and the rest of the weekend I had to either short shift or go up the hill in fourth which was a drag(all those damn little spec Miata's going by me).

I also have X-pipe with Borla Stingers. They sound awesome, especiallly when you WOT. I won't recommend installing headers with this set up because it may be too loud. My neighbors said that they really can't hear my car when I come back into the community because I'm always tone down giving everybody that respect. So my point is, I love the Borla's, just don't act like a fool with them. The best thing is when we all go on spiritual rides, I love it. The ferocious sound around other quiet vettes seems to intimidate. My $.02.

See I will be doing headers and the hoel exhaust system but wasnt sure If the stingers would be too loud with the long tubes combination. I will try to see if there are any sounds clips out there.

You just might be surprised how many people don't have a clue what a Z06 is.

Yes... but most everyone knows what a Corvette is, and assume they're all fast.
