OK guys help me make a decision. I currently have a '00 coupe 24k miles. I am debating to trade in for a '03 metalic z06. The car has only 2200 miles on it. Still under warranty... My car payment will go up a hundred dollars! I always get scared signing so pls give advise.... anyone who owns a z06 is there a noticable difference in power? Is it worth giving up the removable top for a hard top? thanx

With only 2200 miles on it I'd go for it if I were you....
If you can write a check, do it. You say your payment wil go up $100, so I assume you can't write a check. Smart money says keep your '00. Cars are not "investments" they are (rapidly) depreciating assets.
If your C5 is stock you'll not beleive the difference in driving the Z. It's not just the 50hp or the difference in weight, the m12 tranny is geared to accerate!
How much overall, and, for how long? Still, this sounds very attractive: A newer car (a Z06, mind you) with only 2,200 miles on the clock, and, still under warranty? Don't deliberate too long!
like everyone already said, 100 bucks over the same amount of time? If so then I'd jump all over that.
I just deduced that since you have an '00 and you mentioned you're still paying for it only means that you have a 60 months loan. So, if I understand you correctly. You will have to pay an extra $100 for what the remainder of the loan. If that's the case- I'd go for it, however if you have to repeat another 60 months with an extra $100. It might not be worth it.

If I were you, pay it off and just get a SC or TC with laughing gas if want to have the speed. At least it's not another 60 months of payment.
thanks everybody on their opinion. Most posting here are from mods and other stuff so I appreciate the economic post too! I am looking to get newer since the car is depreciating and I figure trading up now will get me closer to a new C6, which I currently cannot afford! Yes I can pay off this one now, but I do not intend to keep it. As for the new yes it would be 60 month loan but I do not intend to keep it the whole time! Any further comments are welcome

Take some time to think about this. If you almost own your current vette, you can put the payment money for another year into mods to get similar or better performance, still have an open top and not have another 60 months of payments. Remember, over the next few years, C6s will be on the used market for similar prices and have similar performance as the '03 Z, and furthermore, the new Z will be out there in a few years at used prices as well. It's your call, just make sure that you get what you want and can afford. That's what's important. Good luck. Let us know what you decide. Zuti

Good advice by Zuti. Just take a little time and weigh all the options. A basically new Z06 would be nice, but if you are really looking to get into a C6, you may just want to put the extra money away each month and then buy one when the time is right.
