Default Tire Question???

Any of the form members that have gone from runflats to regular tires how much difference did it make. Is it really worth spending 800 to 1000 dollars????????????????HELP???

I went from the GY runflats to Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. They are a lot quieter while driving. However, I have not had them on long enough to tell you how well the tires wear. But so far I am definately satisfied.

It makes a temendous difference in ride quality - kinda like the difference between a truck and car ride. The steering "sharpness" is dulled just a bit, but the benefits far outweigh the this little tradeoff. Remember, your car loses 24 lbs of unsprung weight, which can only help handling and ride.
I waited until my rear runflats were worn out before I switched (to Goodyear GSD3s), primarily because I'm a bit thrifty. However, even if you scrap front runflats with plenty of tread left, you will never regret your decision.
As far as tire choice goes, I highly recommend these tires - great price for American made tires.

If you're considering it, I certainly wouldn't do it until your RF's are shot. There is definitely a difference but not enough to make me part with a G. And consider your tires carefully. I know a lot of people here like Kumho Ecsta MX's.... I didn't get more than 5K miles out of my rears and that's with VERY few BO's.... actually, sorry attempts at them - I don't even think I burned anything other than the clutch.

I went from the EMTs to Supercar F1s on mine and made a world of difference. Quiet ride, better handling, smooth on the roads. To me, yes it was worth the change. Just be willing to accept the possibility of getting a flat somewhere and not being able to continue driving to a repair site.

What is the difference in cost? I know how much RF's are but how much for the PS2's?
I know, if I have to ask I can't afford them!

Went from stock EMT to 18" Michelin all around...my wife actually accused me of trading cars at first. The ride is SOOOOOO much better. I gave up the run flat ability, but I have a cell phone and a AAA card, so it was worth it.
