We got 31.4 MPG on vacation this past summer going from NC to Myrtle Beach, SC. That included some stop and go, some 55 MPH roads and some 70 MPH roads. I kept it in 6th gear as much as possible.
Oh, yeah. That also included one quick blast from 40 MPH to 90 MPH going around some idiot in a minivan who thought he could hold up a whole line of traffic. We were in a 55 MPH zone and were the sixth car in line. After riding behind this idiot for a long time, I was chomping at the bit to get around him. Finally, I saw some clear road with no cars coming. I told my wife to hang on. I pulled it back in 2nd gear and stood on it and blew by the whole crowd finally reaching 90 MPH. It just so happened the song Blue Bayou was playing on the radio at the time!
This is one of the many reasons I love my Z06. Where else is it possible to geta 12 second car that can get 30 mpg on the highway? Most people don't believe me but who cares when I'm the one having all the fun.
[QUOTE=starshifter]I don't mean to spoil the party but remember that the DIC algorithms underestimate fuel comsumption by 10-20%. I got my FRC 2 weeks ago and have filled her up twice. First time, as I was driving her back from NC, the DIC estimate for the trip was 32.5MPG. Actual MPG was 28.5. Second time around town, DIC said 22.5MPG. Actual was 19.9. I've driven 80 miles in town since the last time I filled up and the DIC estimate so far on this tankfull is 15.1MPG. Based on my experience with the first two times I filler up, I'm afraid I'm actually running 13.5MPG.
In the first week I was often shifting at 2500RPM. Now that I'm getting more used to her, I shift her at 3000 80% of the time (used to shift at redline in my Honda) and in the 3000-4500 range the remaining 20% of the time. Maybe that accounts for the highly disappointing MPG.

Uh....yeah...........and if you drive 150 mph on the highway, your highway mileage will decrease too !

But isn't that what these cars were meant for? I feel really funny upshifting at 1500RPM. Something is not right...
