Default C5 Mileage ?

I just took a day trip to Des Moines for business. i drove my C5 coupe. This is my first road run, I got 29 mpg. Just curious how everyone else does. I got 19 on my first tank of mixed hwy and city miles. Is this pretty standard?

your highway is avg. but your city is low and less you have a lead foot and 19 is ok.

Mines nearing five years and 38K, I still get around 30MPG at about 70-75 on the highway (6spd). I usually get around 21-22MPG around town, with just a little "goosing" the throttle!!

MPG seems a lil low, esp since you're prob taking the smooth & level I-35...

I average about 20-22 doing only city driving. so i'd say your figures are ballpark, if not a little low

I have yet to be disciplined enough in town not to step all over it. I hope to mature soon! Hey, thank god for that "Oh Sh*t" pedal on the left side of the floor board!

Fairly standard - of course it depends a lot on the driving conditions, etc.

Many have reported 30+, over long distances, with minimal 'slowing', and at reasonable speeds (<65, etc.).

City - many report 20+, again it depends on conditions.

City 23 or so, with about 20% highway driving mixed in.

Driving to BG last May I got 27.5, but I may have been driving a little more that 70 a time or ten...

My gas mileage has been messed up since I got my Borla's. I'm always stomping my foot.

That's about normal. I usually get around 30 or so on the highway.

I have had nearly identical city milage. It gets better when I am very light on the throttle and use 6th religiously. At first I was upset with what seemed to be poor milage, but I have way too much stop and not enough go to get good milage gains from extended highway driving.

Cheers.

I've been averaging about 24-25 mpg city and between 30-33 highway(and have seen 38 mpg ave at one time going down TN mountainous roads.) This is of course babying the throttle with very little stomping on the gas.

Keep in mind that city driving can vary drastically. If I only go back and forth to work, I average only 14-15mpg in the city. Mix in a bit of roads with more than a 1/4 mile between lights and I can get up to 21-22 in the city.

Are you sure you guys aren't running six cylinder engines in your cars? My mileage is more like BrianWe's, 17-19mpg in the city and around 21-23mpg on the highway.
