I've had good luck using Bissel aerosol upholstery shampoo, rinse with lots of water. Better yet, just leave the top down. RaggTop is supposed to be the best though. My top is light oak also.

I agree that Ragtopp works well. I clean and protect my top once a year and water beads up all year around. Just remember to cover any glass area before using the protectant...it's a pain to remove from the glass. I drape towels over the windshield and side windows. Then I mask the rear window with newspaper and tape. Have fun!
I personally prefer the RaggTopp cleaner and protectant. I buy an inexpensive plastic paint drop cloth from Walmart (.99). Cut it into four pieces and open the convertible top a bit. Slide a piece of plastic sheeting under the front and rear edge and both side windows. Latch the top down and mask the rear window with paper and painters tape. Go about spraying the protectant evenly (works best in bright sun). This is of course after you've cleaned the top and it's "bone dry". I've used 303 as well as Raggtopp. Both products work well.
