Live in Chi-town western suburbs. c5 is wife's dd.
Will not subject c5 to crumby weather. That includes rain. Her other car is Honda Accord.
When I cann't find a way to steal the vette for the day, I drive a Silverado. Even tho its no where near as much fun, at least I can see above traffic. And 4wd is a lot better in the slop.
For the first year I owned my 03 mn5 vette it was my only car. (My 68 camaro show car does not count, it is only for show.) Recently I found a used 95 ford ranger pickum up truck that I use for daily bad weather driver.
I drive mine everyday and since I am in the PNW, a lot in the rain. The only drawback, is that any mods you do, need to be done in a day, or you have to hitch rides.

Well, up 'till today Red Racer was in the garage whenever rain showed up. But thanks to my soft heart, it got rained on today when I took it out and looks like the same for tomorrow to go to work.
Step-daughter's car quit running last week and I let her use my rainy-day driver, a '94 Olds Bravada SUV until she gets it repaired hopefully tomorrow.
What can I say...She's a good kid and deserves a break. Plus, I really don't mind too much cleaning up the Vette...it's only about 3 miles to my job so it can't get too dirty in the rain between here and there...
Only reason I didn't give her the keys to the Vette is because she has two kids and she couldn't safely transport them both in the one passenger seat... ...
Not a daily driver but my only car. Don't have a chance to driver her much, usually only on the weekends and sometimes after work on weekdays. Too expensive to pay for parking in NYC (min $25/day or $400/mon downtown NYC) so I take public transportation during the week.
I drive mine everywhere - was stuck in the snow a few times, but was able to get it home still.
500 RWHP and snow isnt as much fun as you would think it would be.
I agree with one of the comments above - You dont appreciate the car as much as it just becomes a daily event - Even 500rwhp isnt that impressive anymore.
I drive my '04 Vette two or three time a month to work, rest of the time my DD is a '96 Chev Pickup that looks like new and my wife drives an '04 Chev TrailBlazer.
Got a 99 Durango ( piece of s#$t) but it's paid for so I'm keeping it. My wife have an 03 CRV. Although I do drive my C5 in winter on really dry days with no snow on the forecast and no salt on the road.
Also have a 99 Durango and I love it! Try to split the DD between the two but find myself grabing the car keys more often. Here in Jersey we're going to get snow and the Durango has been very good to me in winter driving and also when I want to fish the surf.
BWT both are paid for Just having fun with then now and are both toys as far as I'm concerned, also have a Sporster that likes to run like the dickens!
I also have a GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck that I drive only during the winter and on rainy days, other than that, I pretty much drive the C5 everyday.
My C5 is my only car. I don't have snow problems here in Miami, so I guess the situation might be different if I lived up north. I actually drive my car to work every other week since I carpool, and of course I drive it on weekends.
I'm fortunate....My 2000 C5 is fun and pleasure only and never see's harsh weather (including gentle rains. ) I have a BMW 325I and a Disco II Rover that are my DD's.
