Can anyone recommend an effective insulation product to reduce cabin noise/heat? I've seen many different products with a wide range of prices in the various catelogs, and just don't know which to go with.
Thanks for the input.
I used the frost king insulation. It is not a custom fit but foiled back duct insulation. Mike Mercury has a detailed post on the installation. You have to take a lot of time and cut and fit carefully. It does help, but I can not quantify. My complaint was the tire noise, so I took the wheel wells out and stuffed fiberglass in behind the wheel wells. This did reduce that conciderably. Cost is of frost king is about $80.
I have seen other products that are custom fit and am sure others will chime in. They will all work to some degree.
Frm what I've read in this forum, the majority of noise that enters the cabin is road noise that passes through the wheel wells. Evil Twin came up with a great procedure for adding Frost King insulation underneath the plastic well covers. You might want to ask him for the procedure link.
ET's instructions are great, if you do not want to use the FK take a look at this http://www.quietcar.net/?google Use ET's instructions but paint this on. Just another way of doing the same thing with a different product.

A very important feature to consider when insulating against annoying road noise: Thus, consider insulating the wheelwells.
