By the way, some of these vehicles (I don't know about this one) apparently didn't have an electric starters and therefore needed to be push started - usually by some big pickup truck. This starting took place on the speed track and thus was part of the race.

3. How often do they do this each year?
4. Must the car be an NC-registered vehicle (i.e., NC state inspection)?
5. What prep is required (e.g., taking all the loose stuff out as in an AX)?
6. When is the first one next season/year?
7. What does it cost the participant?
We'll start with those...

Due to the limited track length, it was technically a drag race and a good start was mandatory. At one run, I was too hard on the gas after changing gear and the traction control set in. This caused me to be without power (like this it felt) for a few seconds. Later I went to competition mode to avoid this problem. In other runs, I started with too much wheel spin (some spectators mentioned black smoke coming from my rear tires at start) and I got some 148-149 mph only. In the last run (the event closed at 2pm) I made sure to accelerate properly from standing (i.e. no or little wheel spin) and I indeed made it above the "magic" 150 mph mark. By the way, the previous record was at 147.783 mph.
The ECTA has a 200 mph club, but with a stock C5 I have no chance to become a member
How long was your track that you came close to 180 mph? I was told that the Corvettes need some 2-3 miles to reach close to top speed.

Sorry to play spelling police, but my smart aleck personality just wouldn't let me pass it up!

The only vehicle that broke down on the track (that I was aware of) was a bike whose engine case broke. This happened early in the morning and it took about one hour to clean the track.

Driving such a track at 200+ mph speeds on a motor cycle would be a different thing

2. The stock C5 is considered to have some built-in roll bar/cage-like structure and is allowed to go up to 150 mph.
3. They race every month but make a winter break until April next year.
4. The car does not need to be registered at all.
5. One needs to wear a helmet and some other sportscar driver told me they were required to have a fire extinguisher and wear a fire-proof suit.
6. See no. 3.
7. I paid $125. $100 for the event and the rest to become a member.

Wow!! That is awesome!! I'd love to try that out!!!
I've been up to 145 mph on the Pocono Speedway but that's just because the straightaway wasn't long enough. I'd love to legally be able to drive up to 170+ mph at least once. Is it possible to go past the 150 mph limit if you have the proper mods and get approval???

According to the rules, the verts need roll structures. That and the membership and cost to play brings the cost up near a grand. I'm not sure if this is cost effective for me a days drive away.
