Default Which Shifter Should I Get?

Which do you guys prefer better? I want the shortest one but not loud or too impossible to shift gears into.

Hurst or b&m?

What about the new b&m precision?

Or should I just get a c6 zo6 shifter?

Thanks for your opinions!

I had a Hurst and didn't like it - good short throws but too stiff for me. Went to the C6 shifter and like that a lot - little shorter throws than stock and easy to shift. There's some threads here re the new B&M which is supposed to be a lot like the Hurst but not as stiff, might want to try some of those guys.

I have the Hurst shifter. At first, I too thought that it was pretty stiff, but I got used to that real fast. Now, I'm completely used to the feel of the shorter throw and prefer it to "looser" shifters.

I like the Hurst using the soft springs. (The Hurst is very adjustable) I tried the C6 OEM shifter and it was a joke compared to the Hurst. The C6 shifter is slightly better than the stock C5 shifter but not by much. The "throw" is shorter than the stock C5 shifter, but the shifts aren't precise like the Hurst.

Hurst for me. Love the short throws and very positive shifts. Was a bit stiff at first but it seems to have loosened up with alittle time or I just don't notice anymore.

I had B&M shifter which SUCKED big time, then i switched to Hurst which was a little better, then got BPP shifter which is far better than any other shifter currently made for a C5....

unless Pro 5.0 shifters are made for C5s, BPP shifter is the best avail.

OK,OK.....Well,.first let me say what no one else will,.... our tranny's could be a lot better! that said no shifter will fix compleatly its shortcommings. However a good short throw shifter will do wonders and cut down on fast shift,......frustration by about 90%. If your the kind of person that can read directions you might like the hurst shifter! I do and what I did was becouse I wanted the "Pistol grip" I orderd the handle. now hurst doesnt make one for the shifter that goes into our beloved vets and they would sit a little higher than I wanted so I just drilled one half in. deeper and then cut the propper thread ! its perfect (for me)! hint,.....use the lock tight (provided) when you get all the right (for you) adjustments have fun

Installed the new B&M Ripper about a month ago. Short percise throw and quiet as stock, best shifter I've come across over the years.

I just did the swap from a Hurst, which by the way was a fine shifter; however I grew tired of the noise. The new B&M behaves like a short throw shifter but has OEM-like noise isolation. The best of both worlds. Highly recommended!

BPP= Breathless Performance products

Has anybody used the C6 Z06 shifter yet, and how does it compare to the above mentioned shifters?

Trying to make this decision as well.

Thanks,
Jw
