1. What do you consider streetable? Not all cam profiles will give you stock-like or near stock-like street manners. I recommend driving different H/C vettes if you have access.
2. What additional mods do you see for your car in the future? In other words, do you plan to add forced induction or nitrous. Not all cam profiles are compatible with F/I or nitrous.
3. What rear gear do you currently have? Some cam profiles give you a gigantic rush from mid-range to redline while others will give you more down low and then drop off up top. You may need gears to give you more "grunt" down low i.e. 3.73s, 3.90s, or 4.10s.
4. What type of driving will you be doing? If you plan to drag race, you'll probably need to upgrade your clutch too. Some aftermarket clutches combined with a moderate to aggressive cam profiles can equal street driving headaches. On the other hand, your OEM clutch may not be able to handle the gain in torque.
5. Do you have access to a good installer and tuner? I personally wouldn't recommend DIY, but some have been successful.
Those are just a few questions to help you narrow your choice down. To answer your question about power, expect anywhere from 390-480rwhp and 370-425rwtq. It's all in the combination and tune.
As for personal my recommendation, see my sig. 21st Century Muscle Cars did my H/C package with excellent driveablity and street manners. The dyno sheet below shows the power I was making this summer, SAE corrected for the 125 degree heat. Recently I was back at 21CMC and while I was there I had an A/F tweak to my tune which netted me an additional 10hp/tq.
Good luck,
-RR
