A friend who's been leasing a 2003 Corvette (Coupe and not Anniversary Edition) is considering buying it at the end of the lease. Anyone have any info on its longterm reliability, possible things to watch for or any other thoughts.
Thanks!
My 03 has some significant electrical issues. Stranded me 2 times and other odd problems. I have just replaced the battery and hope that it will revive my trust. But, probably not specific to the 03.
I think in general, most of the C5's were reliable outside of a few issues found after the introduction of the 1997 model. GM was quick to post any major issues for resolution.
I have a 1999, but I only have 32K on her. But so far, she's handled everything I've thrown at her.

23000 miles so far and only two things! With less 200 miles I had a rear end leak....repaired under warranty! The second problem was when my front transverse spring broke (I think that is what it's called) and the front end was hanging over my front tires! I was not driving it when this happened!!! Of course this had to happen while at work. The flat bed was called and had to explain to everyone exiting at 5pm why the car was being towed Had that repaired after waiting for 3 days for the part! Other than that it has been rock solid
I'm coming up on 80,000 miles on mine. I had an AC problem when it was under factory warranty, and since then, I've taken it in for small differential leak for repair on my extended warranty. Overall, I've been very pleased with the dependability, mileage, and performance
It's alot more dependable than my 2nd car, a '95 Plymouth Neon!
