I just ajusted mine last week , no matter how I closed it drop or push one side never would catch, so I was doing both. After adjusting the three 10 mm bolts and the rubber adjusters I can drop from about 6 inchs now , also lube those latches

Is this a trick question? I mean, if I answer this will I receive spam mail, or something?
Something that seems so simple and so fundamental now requires a question and answer.
6 inches and let it drop, if it doesn't latch go higher.

I know...stupid thread but hey, the more stupid it is the better it is here on the C5 side, right?
Looks like most here just drop it from the 6-12" range and since that's what I have been doing I was just currious.
I've been waiting for someone to say just slam it down
I tried the one where you just push the corners down but it just don't like the idea of one side locked at a time and it may cause stress on the hood.

I just give it a little shove and allow it to come crashing down.

That's the way my friend does it with his Ferrari F355. I figure if it's good enough for a Ferrari, it should be good enough for my vette. My hood still looks perfect, so I'll continue to do it my way until I start to see some signs that I'm doing it wrong.

My car has a little bit of the older vette symdrome. I need to kind of slam it on the drivers side to get it to catch. One of my winter projects to adjust the stop.
