Default dimming lights

Hello all, i really need your expertise on this one.

Its seems to happen at night with the light on more than any other time. But with driving on the freeway i can see my light dims and the car will pull slightly to the left and a, "ACTIVE HANDLING" message on my DIC will pop up.

The volt meter on the dash never goes below 13v. I have replaced the battery to a optima and the problem persists.

Does this sound like a grounding issue and should i take it to an auto electronics shop for diags?

Thanks for the help,

Sui

I'd say there is an electrical problem without a doubt - maybe you have a failing alternator, could be a grounding issue.

I suggest that you send a P.M. to Bill Curlee who seems to be the resident expert on this type of issue and maybe he can offer you suggestion....good luck!

I have the same dimming issue but my headlights only dim when I put the windows up on down. They only dim slightly, but it annoys me. It makes no sense to me... anyone else have this problem?

The window motors require a lot of juice. I would say that is not uncommon to see lights dim. But if it is excessive maybe something is wrong with the battery or charging system.

It's not excessive, it's very slight and probably unnoticeable to everyone but me. The battery is fine, pretty sure it is running at above 13 volts.

I have the same problem but if I adjust the seat it really dim's the lights even more so that the windows. I read somewhere that this is normal but it really bugs me and GM should have corrected this annoying gremlin.
