Not only is it bad enough that GM never fixed this problem, but I've read so many posts about owners having to have it repaired several time before it's done right.
I'm bringing mine in for this for the first time Monday. I hate the thought of bringing my cars to dealers (especially this car). I'm expecting that it will take more than once to really fix it. When I took the car in to go over the needed (warrantee) repairs, they were not unaware of the C5 leak so I hope they have developed a successful repair procedure. Time will tell.

Remind your dealer that there is a TSB from GM on this repair. The dealer that I'm working with started with the differential seals and then has gradually replaced seals in the transmission and one axel seal. Needless you say, I'll be looking into an extended warranty this summer when the original expires.
My 02 Z06 developed the leak at 20K miles and 1 month after the 3yr warranty ran out! Thank goodness for an extended warranty. However it had been doing it for a little while by the time I noticed it because it had gotten on my catback exhaust and turned it a nasty color and I had to get the exhaust buffed and refinished.
It's almost like GM dosen't care about its customers. They let the steering column lock problem, and the leaky axle seals go without real fix. These problems were in the 97's when the C5 first came out, and have lasted to the end of their production. I wonder what problems the C6 will have, that GM will not bother correcting.

And it's no wonder that GM makes less on each car sale and has higher warrantee costs per car than Toyota. If they keep that up, GM will be filing for bankruptcy….oops, they already are.
