and Welcome,

Hope this helps,

The Y platform, or Y-body, is General Motors' high-end rear wheel drive automobile platform from the 1980s through the 2000s.

The fourth character in the Vehicle Identification Number for a Y-body car is "Y".

Only two Y-body cars have been produced:

Cadillac XLR
Chevrolet Corvette

GM's Kappa platform was based on the Y-body. The distinctive feature of both platforms is the backbone central-tunnel design.
"Gen 3" V8 (LS1)
The "Gen 3" V8 (RPO-LS1) engine is used in all 1997 and later Corvettes, and 1998 and later Camaros.
