A Homelink installed in your sun visor is much cooler and neater. Then you can store "stuff", like coins in your ash tray. However, at least you don't have to look at that ugly garage door opener.

Great idea! When I run into the store with my 99 and the top is off her I always remove the remote from the visor so no one will steal it. Now it fits perfect in that space all secure and out of sight.

I simply removed the visor clip from my garage door opener and found that it fits exactly in the space that previously held the ash tray. The stock pressure tabs that held the ash tray in place keep the door opener firmly in place. The door opener is made by Craftsman. $0 dollars invested, about 1 minute of my time, and completly reversible. Plus by closing the ash tray door I can hide it entirely.
By the way it is a rainy day today, and I apparently have too much time on my hands.
Great Idea. I wil give it a try.

I have the same mod.
Only I found that the big button worked better for me on the right instead of the left.

Now if I just push the ash tray door slightly my garage door goes up.
I will have to try this mod to my mod.

Well, It continues to amaze me at the creativity of corvette owners. If there is a will there is a way. If their is an unused space, we will find something to install there!
