Ash Tray Mod
I had been following a few threads on the homelink system and it gave me an idea.
I simply removed the visor clip from my garage door opener and found that it fits exactly in the space that previously held the ash tray. The stock pressure tabs that held the ash tray in place keep the door opener firmly in place. The door opener is made by Craftsman. $0 dollars invested, about 1 minute of my time, and completly reversible. Plus by closing the ash tray door I can hide it entirely.
By the way it is a rainy day today, and I apparently have too much time on my hands.

Haven't had a chance to check out a horsepower increase yet. I am pretty sure it will amount to about as much gain as I received from the steering wheel and air bag decals.

I did the same thing except that I super glued the head of a 1/2 " diameter by 1 1/4 " long bolt to the button.
Now if I just push the ash tray door slightly my garage door goes up.

The decals don't really add power - until you've put on the hood seal. Then - watch out!

It's sh*t like this that makes this forum great...I think I will do the "Ron71 Garage Door Opener Mod". I'm tired of having that thing on the visor.

Another GREAT idea! All I could think of is coin holder. It will hold the garage door opener from now on.
Thanks

I love it.
I just returned from the garage and it worked great (and got rid of that worthless ashtray).
