I have a 92' and a 04' Corvette.
I only drive them 3 or 4 times a month since I have a truck to drive to work (a plant)
What's the best way to keep the batteries from running down?
Should I unhook the negative from the battery everytime?
I'd say a "float" type charger such as a BatteryTender(tm) is the best answer to the dilema of keeping batteries charged in infrequently operated vehicles.
I used one myself on a motorcycle and it probably saved me from buying at least 3 or 4 new batteries over a span of several years.
How does a battery tender work?
It plugs into a outlet and attaches to the negative and positive?
It senses when the batter goes below a certain voltage and comes on. Then it goes off after it reaches a certain voltage....never supposed to let the battery get to low, and won't overcharge it and damage it that way....it's usually a very small charger and easy to handle.
