Default chrome plenum

Looking for the chrome plenum that is molded to fit directly over the C5 plenum. Was told that Kewl sold it but it wasn't on their website. Any help?

I believe he took it off due to the high volume of sale and the chromers taking too long to finish them, the customers were getting angry and it created a bad taste in people's mouth, ecspecially for what they were paying for it.

Just talked to Kewl and the guy was real nice and said that they had problems with the chrome bubbling under heat so they pulled them. They are having some made now and then they will be tested, and hopefully ready in Jan.The price is a little steep ($550) but it is awesome looking. Thanks for your response

I agree that the chrome looks good (i seriously thought about buying the chrome cover from kewl) but I just can't see paying that much to have it chromed when you can have it custom painted like mine is for $125.

Waited over 3 months, then had to fight to get Kewl to credit my CC.

Just to be CLEAR, this was not to Kewl's discredit but to the chromers he was using why things went heywire.

You didn't ID the place but I'm moving to Nashville next week and found this, supposedly, top notch chrome plating company who specialized in 'rods. I have some stainless steel pieces that are acratched like $hit and will take them over there to see about chroming them. Their website says "now doing plastic". That's all I know about them...http://www.advancedplating.com/

Much of the chrome goodies you see on this forum was done at Advanced. This name isn't a surprise to any of the resident chrome junkies here. Their quality is outstanding, but their lead times (due to their popularity) can be quite long as a result.

I talked to Greg (Kewl) at Funfest this year about the cover, and specifically, why he pulled it from the site. . He never mentioned anything about any heat/quality issues with the manifold cover, only that the unexpected high demand and very long lead times from the plater is what caused him to not advertise it any more. I have continued to send people his way when asked about it because of his explanation to me.

My chrome plenum cover has been on almost 2 years with no issues whatsoever. The finish is just as flawless as the day I got it. Chrome doesn't bubble from heat, only from poor adhesion to the part - a prep problem, and i'm even skeptical about that as the reason. I don't know how the fact it's plastic affects this matter, but based on the size and contours of the part, I can definitely understand the difficulty in obtaining a perfect finish on it, and knowing very well that Greg won't send out a flawed part to his customers, I'm sure he rejects a lot of what he receives, and thus, the delays and excuses start. You can't tell people 3 weeks delivery knowing you have a 4-6 week lead time from the plater, and then reject some of it when it does arrive from the plater.

Unless he can build some stock ready-to-ship (which is probably what he's doing now), it's not a good situation for anyone, and likely the real reason it's no longer advertised.
