Would a digital pic hold up in court, if necessary? Heck, does a negative even count anymore? What's to stop someone from photographing a digital pic with a film camera?
I just bought a 2 Megapixel camera phone, and it got me to wondering, if I had to use it to legally document an accident, would it really be admissable?
I figgered, if you got dozens of shots, at different angles, and they all told a consistent story, it'd convince any rational person that, yeah, this series of pictures are nigh impossible to photoshop. No?
You have a point there, I have decent photoshop skills and would probably be able to magic up some damage on a car that didnt have near that ammount. Its not nearly as hard as people might think. However many shots and angles may make it a little easier to spot inconsistancies, as well as make it a PITA for whoever is digitally crashing the car.
Kodak makes a disposable digital now, I saw at Walgreens for less than $20. Take the pictures and send in for 'processing'. The geeks have also found out how to hack in so you can reuse. Either way, no film means no spoilage.
I'm a camera nutcase, and keep a digital camera in all my cars for just such an ocassion. Thanks for letting other members know the importance of being prepared.
Thats is a great idea, I have done that in the past. The problem is the sun in July makes the car over 120 degrees and the film melts. I went to use for something else (bald eagle sighting) and when I went to wind the film, it snapped.
Do they make a throw away camera that can with stand the heat?
Hi screw991le -
You can buy cheap digital cameras for under $50 now - and a lot of phones have cams on them - if you don't need high quality, then these are much preferable to film or a more expensive digital -
