LAPD Heat/Stiffining Plate Question
I bought the LAPD coated tunnel plate and my question is: Does it affect the heat deflecting process if I had the plate put in with the stock plate over it? The guy at the muffler shop that installed it said that I should go ahead and put both because they were both heat shields and it would work better. I've had them on the car now for a few months and it still gets hot. I was thinking that maybe by installing both plates together it kind of defeats the point of the ceramic coating on the LAPD plate. Am I right and should I go through the trouble of removing the stock plate or leave it alone?

I have been through the search for keeping the tunnel of my Z06 cool. This is what I would suggest that you try:
1) Order the Thermo-Tec tunnel heat shield - http://www.thermotec.com/products/full/16570/16570.html
2) Once you have the tunnel shield, go to back to the shop that put both the OEM plate and the Ceramic-coated plate on you car and have them remove the OEM plate and install the Thermo-Tec tunnel heat shield below the Ceramic-coated plate. Those two pieces together will significantly reduce your tunnel temperature.
Been there, done that.
