I REFUSED to settle claim until they agreed to pay depreciation on my car!

If you want to know how much your car depreciated, call a dealership and ask them what "trade in" value on your vette is. Then tell them it has paint work and was rear ended. That difference is what you should get from the insurance company! Approximately 15-20% on average car, 25-30% on a Corvette or other "exotic" car!

No matter how cute the girl was----your car has taken a BIG hit in value!!!! And it wasn't your fault she rear ended you!
valuable advise........love the members of this forum. to take time to explain some of these things, is a blessing and i thank you all

Very important to a quality repair.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I had a similar thing last year. My brakes were better than some little beat-up, piece 'o ricer!

This is a bit low.
It cost almost that much for pulling and painting the rear. The facia will cost more.

Look for more like the $1200-$1500 range.

Sorry for the bad luck, nowadays it seems the smallest little fender bender runs thousands of dollars. Hopefully they'll have it look just like before.

I just picked mine up from having the rear fascia replaced, so yes I can tell you how much a new one is.

The rear fascia MSRP is 540, but you can get one from Fred Beans for 405.99 shipped!! The only thing you have to watch out for with whoever is going to paint it is that they can charge you for having to make minor adjustments to the bumper that you got from somewhere else. I haven't found a better price than Fred's though.

The good thing is, you have options now. Consider changing the rear fascia with a Tigershark or other, since you now have to replace it anyway!

Oh, to finish the pricing thing.....you'll pay anywhere from high 800s, to just under 1100 for the parts, labor and painting depending on where you are.

Make sure to ask the paint shop if they have the capability to "tint" their paint to ensure the best match between your new bumper and the rest of the car.

Good luck on your repairs!
