Im guessing the only NON blind spot is in front of them. all three times I was either next to them or thier front wheel was just even with my door
the worst place to be is on their passenger side even with their cab, they cant see a thing, theres a small window in the door but if you cant see his face through it, he cant see you.
I lost a 1990 Honda and nearly my life from a truck driver changing lanes on me. His Rt front headlight was even with my B-Pillar. He popped into my lane faster than I could react. He neded up pushing me about 300 yards down the interstate with the words "FREIGHTL.." about 6" from my head. If there had been a bridge or sign or anything solid in front of us, I would be dead. As it was, I only had an earfull of glass and a sore throat from screaming like a little girl.
The next time a truck wanted my lane, I did an off-road maneuver at 85 MPH in my Q45. I lost the front bumper, power steering hoses, oil pan and exhaust pipe that time. That one just pissed me off.
For a few months, I would flash my lights and honk my horn as I passed trucks. I NEVER ride next to one, EVER!
stay behind them or pass them NEVER stay alongside them. there are blind spots, a few years back i changed lanes right into a car who was right next to my right front wheel.i did'nt even know he was there, luckily no one was hurt and it is still the only accident i've had in 19 years driving truck.when the state patrolman got there he told the person driving the car the same thing i said at the beginning of this reply.i personally believe the average guy has no idea what it takes to drive a truck on todays highways in traffic and do it safely.DRIVE SAFE
