Default FYI Flash-to-Pass

Or whatever you want to call the light flashing...

Some time ago I started a thread asking if there was a secret to this. And apparently there is not, but I figured out a suitable alternative.

Turn on your parking lights and enable your fogs. Then just pull back on the turn signal stalk (as if you were flashing your high-beams with your headlights on) and the fog lights will turn off then back on when you release the stalk.

If you don't mind driving with your fog-lights on, you are immediately ready to flash-to-pass (or flash-to-warn, or whatever).

Oh, you mean just like it's described in your owner's manual?
Flash-to-Pass Feature
To use the flash-to-pass feature, momentarily pull the turn signal lever toward you. The high-beam indicator will flash to indicate to the other driver that you intend to pass. If the low-beam headlamps are off and you have the optional fog lamps on, the fog lamps will flash.

The funny thing is the flash to pass is now illegal in mass. You'll get a ticket for road rage. I am not joking. People turned a way to tell people to get out of the way into a law. Go figure

Thats kinda funny...I thought that it was mandatory to use flash to pass in some states (im from michigan were its not but I thought I remember hearing something about this from cali?) Something like you had to use it in heavy traffic situations when you are passing others that in the lanes to the right of you...basically to let them know you are passing them and to alert them not to cut you off...hellifiknow...I know someone will chime in!

I use it to signal folks that it is clear to pull in front of me. That's about ALL I use it for. If they want to give me a ticket for being considerate, I'll be sure to avoid any uncivilized state.

You do not have to turn on your parking lights and fog lights for flashing.

They work even in normal mode with the DRLs on.

Mass as a state has been messed up for years. This is just another law proving their complete loss of common sense. Re-electing a person who let a girl drown is absolutely mind binding. Us older guys need to keep reminding the other generations of the Mary Jo K/Kennedy crime.

Thanks for the info, but I really don't flash-to-pass a lot. The last time I did this was in Germany on the Autobahn. I was doing 140 mph, and yes, the cars in front of me got out of the way quick!!

Yes we all know about Ted. I was just telling about the law that has been in effect for around 4 years here. I have never given a ticket for road rage. Just another law that does not get enforced.

I installed PIAA fog lights on my Z06.
Now, with just the DRL on if I pull back on my light stick it will activate my fogs and tunoff my DRL for a pass to flash.

I do have my fog relay in the "on" position so when I do turn on my lights they turn on.

I added the OEM driving lights to my 02 Z06. I just pull the high beam stalk back and they are ON!

The really scary part is the high beams flash also, even when they're down and closed.
