I'm trying to figure out what this is, it was on the car when i bought it. the guy i bought it from says the only mods it has is a halltech CAI, upgraded injectors (why im not sure) and some kind if new(?) MAF.

It looks like a MAF Translator to change and adjust your injector pulse width. I had one on my 99' FRC. They work pretty sweet by tricking your PCM into thinking you are running rich or lean so it adds fuel or takes it away. If you have large injectors, this will help lean them out until you have mods. to support them.
i would have posted a pic of the ***** but there arent any markings or any labeling of any kind as to what the ***** are for. i guess if i get my car tuned i should go to jim hall?
Its kind of worthless without knowing what your fuel trims are! If you have a wide band O2 reader, and some tuning software then you could adjust the MAF so that the air flow computations that it provides the PCM are correct.

maf translator gets the nod, w/ all the tuning out there you would think this would be gone by now
LOL! There still is the other MAF Translator out there that you can use with older C5's. I think they may make an adapter for later C5's with the newer MAF sensors I think 4 wire instead of 3.
