Intermittant Door Ajar (Rant)
Whenever it was humid (not necessarily wet), my 2000 C5 would give the the Door Ajar warning, but the door wasn't open.
It made long trips a pain, as I had to listen to the ding-ding-ding every few seconds from time to time. Of course it never occurs at the shop, no matter what.
Drained the battery in the garage overnight. Had to leave the car unlocked, as the horn and lights might go off at any time.
Went to the dealer at least three times in one month. (GMPP expires in February.) I told them it was the passenger door. They did nothing but park it and wait for it to happen. (Even if it did, it would stop before they got the car in the shop.)
Complained to GM and they suggested another local dealer. This time, I told the dealer to take apart the passenger door and I'd pay if they found nothing. They fixed the frayed wire.
Why can't they take the owner's word that a problem actually does exist, instead of this run-around? Does this mean that intermittent problems are never covered by maintenance plans?
Anyway, I enjoy driving again.
