This happened to me also, almost had an accident so I decided the Skip Shift was a must. If he has to ask though I guess he doesn't need it.

Actually I like CAGS. When I am joy riding around town in the economy mood I use CAGS all the time. I think I shift at about 20MPH from 1st to 4th. When I want to step into it or enjoy the revs I just shift it when I want but then of course CAGS is not an issue then. CAGS did fool me a few times before I new what it was. I remember thinking to myself I know I was in 1st gear but somehow I ended up in 4th. To each his own I guess.

I put in the cags mod, then ended up taking it out. Better gas mileage, fewer shifts in slow traffic.

You do not need the CAGS if you want to shift 1-4, why not leave the CAGS Eliminator installed so you at least have the option????? You make it sound like you can't shift 1-4 without the CAGS.

I don't have it and wouldn't spend $1 on it! I drive the car and shift a higher RPM's (just the way Zora intended! ) and it almost never comes up. Just drive through it! Just because the lamp illuminates doesn't mean you HAVE to shift!

In my case the sensor went out and turn the check engine light on. I was told it was over $100 for a new one. So I told the mechanic about the cags for $20, he had never heard about them. I only knew because of this forum. But after the install Check engine light has not come on, not because of that reason anyway. So which way would have gone in that case? I think it is well worth the money.

It really is... the "hardest" part is getting under your car... but if you have rhino ramps, that makes it easy (which I bought specifically to do this mod)... then its like unplugging a toaster and plugging it back in...

like I said, the longest and hardest part of the mod is getting the *** end into the air to do it...

How do you eliminate the shift light from ever coming on again?

Yes I have made a few, well not really made but installed the resistor on a few. You just need a 2.2K ohm .5 watt Radio Shack resistor, unplug the plug, install the resistor, wrap in electrical tape and zip the plug up and out of the way.

That has to be turned off with a program like ls1 edit, hp tuners or something like that. Once that is done you won't need to bypass CAGS anymore.

bend the resistor like a U, and put each end in the male connector of the electrical input on the transmission(back of car). Wrap electrical tape around the male and female ends, and take a tie strap and tie it out of the way. Take your left over $19 and go to the strip club

I haven't done it either and probably won't bother. It has never come up when I've been behind the wheel. I've had it happen to others driving it, but I can't even seem to make it kick in when I try.
