Headers can get you up to 35 RWHP but it would be a good idea to increase the intake side as well...I.E. Haltech Stinger, Blackwing, Vararam as well...more in, more out...if you get a dyno tune afterward you would get the best bang for the buck by installing headers...

a cam on the other hand would net at least 30 more HP (depending on the grind) and also add a bit more expense to the mix...you are looking at about $400 for a cam, then you should do springs, retainers while you are in there...oh and a new timing chain set along with a high volume oil pump and cap it off with an underdrive pulley...see where we are going?

I am in the staging process of a cam only install right now...I am going to do Long Tube headers first, then top it off with a cam followed by the dyno tune...its not worth a bunch to do a cam without long tube headers...

Hope this helps!

I say get the headers first, then an intake, and THEN a cam. in that order. Dont get a cam without the proper supporting mods.

I'm thinking about the same things, so I'll be lurking. BTW, I already have intake/exhaust.

I did a poll earlier and LG or Kooks seem to be the way to go. From what I understand LG has a better design and they are lighter.
To make the LS1 really run, more air in, more air out. If you are talking to MTI, talk to Jeff about a tune while you are there, that will help also.
Look into a vararam for the intake.
good luck

Start off with the headers, then you can go from there as your budget allows. You should see a good increase with just the headers, but would be better if you added something like a Blackwing, Stinger, etc to the package.

Yep, headers/intake/dyno tune combo seem to be the typical 1st choice in mods. Then it's the slippery slope to cam, heads, and more!

I have now GHL magnums ,Hallteck Stinger ,when I add the headers with just these mods is it worth the cost to throw in a tune? I think its about $500.00 for the tune if I remember right???

Im saying...we dont know a hp increase just by doing headers along. We always sell the headers systems with the 3in catted midsection. There is a 20-25rwhp increase with the Kooks system.

Yes, it will pass emissions. No problems.
from the guy at MTI ,waiting to hear back about when I can drop it off.
