Default Front Turn Signal Out

Bulb for the front turn signal appears to be out. Owner's manual gives no directions and says to contact the dealer. Is it difficult to replace?

Difficult is a relative term. The bulb itself is a straight forward twist socket and a plug in bulb. Getting to it however, is a different story. I raise the headlights, remove the black bezels around the head lights to make some additional room and reach down (scraping my forearms in the process.) The two other options are to remove the black panel under the front fascia which will give you access to it, or remove the tire to gain access to the front brake air duct and reach in the opening.

Thanks for your help! I'll investigate but it sounds like I might make a trip to the dealer since I also have a noisy speaker that needs attention. Thanks again.

Just trying to save you some money as the dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for something very simple, if you can get your hands in the right spot. You can do as Talon suggested by taking off the black bezel and go through the headlight. Alternately just push in the front air brake duct and push it down. Then you can fit your hand in there and turn the socket then replace the bulb. I did a combination of both and replaced it in 10 min. Went through the airduct to take out the socket then replace the bulb through the top.

Take it to the chevy dealer in Wickenburg, Az. they only charged me 23.95 last month. I surprised me, as we were on a road trip from az. back to Ca. they had a service guy stop what he was doing and dug in on the vette. It took him about 30-45 minutes. I was figuring about $100. when i say the bill I was shocked, and they told me they were sorry it took so long.

Turn on the headlights and back off one position to kill the lights.
Unscrew the 3 small screws on the black plastic housing around the headlight. Gently pull the housing clear. Reach down around the headlight unit and release the bulb holder. It unscrews counter clockwise but it has a plastic clip which you need to squeeze to release it. Change the bulb. Reseat the bulb holder and turn until it clicks back in place. Put the plastic housing back in place making sure to locate the small plastic tab in the bracket on the headlamp cover. Replace the 3 screws and close the lights.
10 minute job.

Ironic - had the front left go out too.

What a cluster to change

The old bulb melted to the socket - came out in chunks!

I would go through the duct from the front. I tried from the top and even removed the two covers from the headlight and still did not have much room.

The air duct was easy. Pulled it back (its not bolted in) and brought the whole light socket out thru the front 'bumper' area.

If you have a small enough arm the best way I’ve found is through the brake duct. Feel till you find the locking tab, push in on it and turn CCW. Pull the socket out and replace the bulb. Some guys say don’t touch the bulb, using some kind of glove. Takes maybe 5 minutes at most! By the way it cost me $30 to find that out when I had to get inspection sticker!
If they took 30-45 minutes to change 1 bulb they must have taken a long coffee break!

It's not difficult, but it is a PITA. Since I have big hands and arms, I went the long route, taking off the panel in wheel well area to get access. Takes time but that's life.
