Are you looking at a particular Vette at a dealer that has been reconditioned? I am a small dealer in Orlando and my "reconditioning" is a 25-point list that ranges from filter/wiper blade replacement to a full detail. I would not pay extra for any "reconditioning"...
Prolly used bondo to fill some holes in the body, armor-all'd all the rubber gaskets and leather, and jacked it up without the pucks to clean the undercarriage.

Wash, vacuum, check fluids and fill as needed, maybe an oil change, check tires - but not much more. Howeer, some dealerships have a 100 point checklist that they go through which may entail a bit more things are looked at.
It says '100 point inspection'. ALthough, when I got my 96 silverado in 96, they included tranny and engine oil change and new tires (probably becuase they needed them).

But there are responsible dealers who won't sell junk. Believe it or not, some dealers want not only your current business but they also want your future business. They would never knowingly sell junk to a customer.
Sounds like how my partner details our cars (caught him the other day using a wet dish towel to spruce up our minivans!). Needless to say, I have taken him off detail duty and will be doing it myself now!
