Cool Flex Hose Install Question

Cool Flex Hose Install Question
I just finished installing my cool flex hose and the coupler on the radiator side of the hose is kind of large and holding up the top radiator support/shroud from fitting correctly. The top radiator support does go on, but I had to force it. Did you have to trim the support so it fits better? Or is it Ok the way it is?

either..... I left mine alone and tighten the bolts down just enough that you dont crack the shroud.
It should come with in abouy 1/4 inch

As you can see in this picture WITHOUT being trimmed you cant see it
