Default What a Difference 50 degrees Makes!

Last night at 11:30 I took my C5 for a quick ride and immediatly noticed a dramatic difference in performance. I thought the Horsepower Fairy must have left 50 HP under the hood of my car during the night. Seriously, I could not believe what I was feeling. The temp was 51 degrees outside and this thing was running like I have never felt it since I bought it last Dec. I raced it this past summer with a best of 13.5 at 101 degrees nighttime temp. We are still in the 70's to 80's daytime and I haven't noticed any big deal until driving it late last night. I admit I did shut off the TC and do a few parking lot burnouts and had several on-ramp acceleration adventures that were incredible. I can't wait to hit the track again with this new free Cold Air Mod. Anyone else notice this kind of radical change or should I leave a tooth or something underneath the car seat tonight?

Air temp makes a night and day difference in these cars (as with any car.)

Colder air = more dense = more power. Combined with cold tires = less traction.

I love the power gains this time of year but it does me no good if I can't get it to the ground!

there's a trade off though, with traction

I prefer traction over power

Its a pain thought the tires with stick for anything I did a baseline test to see what my Vette Would run stock before i installed my TT kit, I didnt touch traction in the two first gears, but it sure felt fast once it got going

Move to Ohio; I took a run last night in in 21 degrees...now that's a difference
