I have one and I absolutely love it. I have had it for about a year and it still looks, feels and smells great. The install is very easy. PM me for more info if you are interested. Here are a couple of pics.
Here is a pic of the stitching on the back. Kind of blurry, but you get the idea.

A question does the wheelskin cover go all around the steering wheel on just in sections like you have it the red on the black wheel. In other words do you only receive the red part and the black part is the original wheel or is the whole wheelskin black and red hope you understand what i asked you.And is yours from mid america. Thanks Charlene
Had one on the 96 Coupe and removed it when I sold it. Added one to the 04 Coupe and I love it. The larger diameter of the steering wheel is easier on arthritic hands. And the dual colors look good on the interior match.

Charlene,
It covers the whole outside of the wheel, but not the spokes. You must thread the wax rope through with a big needle and pull tightly. It actually adds a nice thickness to the wheel. I drove someone elses C5 and the wheel felt tiny and weird with out the cover. I love it

I have had them in both my Vettes. Install is easier with two people, trick is you want it tight. When my wife and I were doing our current Vette I ripped the first one, they replaced it no charge. I tend to over tighten things :o Thats why I don't work anything important
Also follow the directions, its really simple, but you want to end up in a spot that is easy to hide the knot. I liked it at the bottom center of the wheel (6 oclock). Can't even notice it
I got it too, I am not happy with it though. I can never get the knot right at the end - so when I cut it - in a few days the knot will undo itself. I have to tuck in the edges every few days. And no one can touch the wheel at that part or the ends will come untucked . Good thing is, wheelskins will send you new leather rope whenever to try again and agin and again .
Any advise on the knot from those of you who did it successfully?
I loved mine so much I bought a two-tone one for my wife's Rainier since we carpool so much. I'm 6'3" and with long fingers it's nice to have a thicker steering wheel, makes it easier to grip without fingernails digging into your palm on hard corners. Leather also has a kind of "tacky" feel to it so your hands stick to it very well. It can take some time to put on though... be careful cause I had the stereo on in the car while I did it (original battery) and almost ran the battery down... prolly took me 40 minutes to install from start to finish.

Did you tie the end of the rope to the very beginning when you got back around? If so, you may be using the wrong type of knot... I guess you aren't a fisherman, I probably tied the blood knot thousands of times and it works great. Once you thread that line all the way back around the wheel, tie it to the section of "beginning rope" you should have left at the start (only twist them around three times if you can). Use a blood knot and tie those two together (you can use a drop of superglue here to "seal" the knot if you want) and then tuck the knot under the skin.
What vendor sells Wheel Skins ? I am very intrested in this mod. Thanks
I got mine from this vendor... there may be others though. I also got the perforated version for my wife and it seems to have even better grip. I love these things! Good Luck!
I spent a good while out there with it. Probably took me an hour and a half. I would suggest wearing a thin glove like an Isotoner on your pull hand. I tore up my hand, but it was so worth it. I got that SOB good and tight. Might I also suggest that you go around and push the needle through all of the holes before you begin. Also, get a thimble!

my dad is an avid fisherman, I'll have to pull him in the garage next time I try to lace that thing up - I'm a pro at the lacing (that sounds homo), done it three times already - just the damn knots I suckle at

Are you talking about a sewing needle?I had a wheel cover a really long time ago and it just laced up by pushing the lace through the holes i guess this one works differently.

It is a big needle. There are pre-punched holes but you do need the needle to get through them. You are probably referring to the old plastic like covers with the weird flat plastic string? These have a wax like coated string that is threaded through with a needle. The wax type substance on there prevents the string from loosening while you are going through the next hole. The instructions are very good. Also, if you go to Wheelskins.com you can order samples and see how the different colors look in your ride.
