Default CD changer wires?

I have a 03Z without a CD changer and am wondering where they would store the wire harness for the changer? I have not pulled the radio to see if the stock wiring is connected but I believe they have them all wired with or without the changer. If anyone could enlighten me, it would be a great help!!!!

It is wired for it, but the harness is not included.

If you go to GM parts direct and order the changer everything comes with it.

Wired for it? Are you saying that wires are running to the back of the car? If so, where do they put the wires?

Default CD changer wires

The changer wires (there are two separate ones) end under the kickplate in the driver's side footwell (at least they do in the 02Z).

The harness connects to these two wire plugs and then runs to the changer/or other input device.

To get the harness, talk to the dealer- mine referred me to a radio service center and I bought it there(but it was only available with the cd changer bracket - the harness plus bracket cost me 95$)

Thanks!! I'll go poke around the driver and passenger side to see if I can find them.

I posted some pics in this thread a while back.

You should be able to locate one of the port plugs very easily; the other one may be hidden from view and may take a little prodding around to locate it.

It may be taped up; see the pics in the other thread and you should be able to figure it out (if not let me know and I'll try to guide you through it, it's a PITA ). Mine was taped and tucked all the way to the right behind the carpeting...

Thanks for the post Larry. I've found a few other posts but this one makes a little more sense, and assures me that this is a PITA!!! Here I bought this nice setup for the IPOD thinking "wam bam thank you mam" and it would be up and running......I THOUGHT WRONG If only the original owner would have put up an extra $500 bucks for his car and had a changer installed!!! I will take your advise from the original thread and wait till I have a whole bunch of time to mess with this and not feel stressed OR maybe can the idea and put the money into more HP

Hey sorry if I made it sound too discouraging it's really not all that bad

For me, that was the hardest part of the install: locating that second AUX port plug!!

Now that I know how GM did it, it's a no brainer to locate it. Just take your time, light up the passenger footwell area real good and you'll have no problem locating it

Tons of peeps have done this mod way before we ever did

Once you've got both AUX port plugs out in the open, the rest of the install is a breeze; all plug-n-play if you buy and use the COR-HAR CD-changer harness.
There's plenty of room up above the passenger footwell area to tuck and hide the iPod adapter box and the excess cabling...

Yeah, it's really too bad the previous owner didn't do this already (but at least you'll be hooking up the next owner right )

I thought the wiring connections were on the right side (passenger side).
I ran the harness down the right side to the trunk like the instructions said.
If I can find them I will scan and post.
